Purpose Contributes to the overall success of Finance Projects in APAC, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Accountabilities Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Support Finance Projects within the domain of Finance change to drive and run various initiatives with a focus on automation, data analytics, process enhancements and system implementation. Work with Finance users on the consumption and analytics of data for Regulatory Reporting, MIS Reporting, Regional Transfer Pricing, Payment Processing and other Finance project initiatives. Build reports using tools such as Python for data insights, business support & analysis. Build and design automated reporting dashboards, reports on visualisation tools such as Power BI. Support reporting process enhancements such as building macro reports to eliminate manual workarounds. Assist in adhoc data extractions, data analytics, data visualisation and dashboarding requirements. Support system testing in the preparation and checking of automated reports, including validation of business requirements, collaborating with Finance, IT and Operations. Assist IT and system developers in the validation of ETL, coding, mapping, field attribution and other automated scripting analysis in the development of automated reports. Assist in bridging the gap between business needs and data science capabilities – to identify areas of opportunities, leveraging on analytics and digital tools/technology to provide meaningful insights. Assist stakeholders in exploratory data gathering and analysis, and building analytical models to make suitable recommendations or provide meaningful insights. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Experience/Other Information Academic Qualifications: Studying for a degree/major in Computer Science/Accounting/Banking and Finance or related technical field Experience and Skillsets: At least 2-3 years’ experience in data science & analytics (preferably in Banking/IT/Finance). Experience within project change will be a plus. Highly proficient in advanced data analytics program/software (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI) Skilled and has working experience in building programs, reports, dashboards with Power BI and other tools/technology Proficient in Microsoft Office; e.g. Word, PowerPoint and Excel Excellent oral/written communication / interpersonal skills Team player with a positive and proactive learning attitude Location(s): Singapore : Singapore : Singapore Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
