Key accountabilities: Role & Responsibilities Provide to the Bid Manager the estimate of engineering effort needed for the bid preparation Define best compromise to address the gaps (QCD) (Mechanical, Functional Architecture) Identifies technical risks, and ensures they are covered by dedicated action plan agreed by Platform and Metiers. Establish engineering QCD commitment: Master planning, costing, PIO, Risk assessment and management plan Gets the validation of Site Engineering Directors and Bid Manager on the Engineering assumption pack gathering the Engineering outputs. Negotiate with the Engineering Directors the allocation of the technical team in line with the bid needs (expertise and timing) Analyze, with the support of System Application Architect(s), the potential gaps between the customer's specification and standard solutions and products and support Bid Manager and Tender Leader in defining the most suitable compliance strategy Build the system architecture applying the solution chosen with the support from the Solutions Directors Coordinate, from a technical point of view, the bid internal stakeholders (Installation, Testing & Commissioning, Services Engineering, Participating Units/ PUs) and the external stakeholders (if applicable) to ensure overall understanding of the bid technical strategy (including scheme plans, bill of quantities, migration strategy, PIO, etc.) Perform requirements compliance analysis and/or clause-by-clause of technical bid documents Consolidate the technical assumptions applicable to the bid Prepare and lead a Technical Design Review up to the approval of the technical scope associated to the bid Lead the preparation and consolidation of the technical documentation to be delivered with the bid Coordinate the engineering quotations and risks evaluation checking for overall consistency and competitiveness Support Bid Manager during the negotiation with the Customer, identifying any technical change during that phase Ensure a smooth handover with the PrEM (Project Engineering Manager) in case of contract award Strategy, Methods & Tools Define target costing and costing strategy for allocated opportunities Pursue reference of historical data for building costing benchmarks Adoption of tools like MACO, Mercury, FI07 tool Provide inputs and participate to various governance reviews like BOR, WNG, QCDP, TRM, TTM etc Leverage collaboration with Services Marketing for Case Studies, Marketing Material production and Sales teams Training Participate to ALM, TO&SM, RSM and P&O Platform - Best Practices sharing, Case studies etc … Customer Service Support Customers on daily basis for any inquiries Support Business Development Manager for all quotations in Parts Orders, CRO orders, ALM Orders, Frame contract offerings (TSSSA, VMI, LTPAs..) for being competitive with adequate parts coverage vs customer needs Manage with Supply Chain all deliveries at risks/issues in proper communication with Customers aligned with respective CD Management Actively participate in Customer Needs Reviews, Marketing & Commercial Carousels and Region’s business plans. Adherence to tender process assessed by internal inspections or audits Alignment with footprint strategy (PIO target) Winning Bid (Hit rate), technical rating by the Customer No deviation between the TTR and the FPR0 due to technical issues REX during project execution (technical issues originated tender phase) You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us.
